NLP Kids training

As you can imagine, I'm often asked about my NLP Kids Practitioner Training and how it works as a Distance Learning course. Most NLP courses are residential and indeed I learned that way as it enabled one to experience the learning in a very personal way and learn with others, talk about how you're feeling and get immediate feedback from your peers.

But for me this presents a problem because I'm training students to work with children and there aren't any children in a residential training room. Indeed, one might ask whether it would even be reasonable to use children in that way, as guinea pigs. Also, whilst I want students to experience the learning at a personal level, mostly I am training people who are already qualified in NLP and who want to learn how to use their skills with children.

We meet weekly on Skype for an hour and all use webcams which mean I can see everyone, usually 4-6 students, and they can see and hear each other. It's like an International classroom. The first week we introduce ourselves so we know why each student is doing the course, where they're at in their NLP training and the ages of their children. It's important that students have children to practice the techniques on because otherwise how would they perfect them?

The Module to be covered that week is delivered along with plenty of examples from my own practice and we discuss the issues, ideas and experiences. I then explain the homework. Homework is either presented to the group or sent to me via email for feedback privately. The amended homework assignment is then posted in our Private Facebook Group for other students to give their feedback.

Students get the opportunity to work on anxieties, confidence, limiting beliefs, behavioural issues, indeed they have to prove that they can cope with anything that might come up in a therapy session with a child or teenager. In addition we cover how to run parents' workshops, children's/teens workshops, teacher programmes and intro sessions. The have to create their compelling vision for their Kids Therapy Practice as a press release, poster of flyer and at the end of the course they have to deliver a final assignment that reflects their passion. We have had presentations on NLP for Aspergers, Dyslexia, Toddler Tantrums, bed-wetting, teenage anxieties, teenage confidence and so many other fascinating topics.

The final Module is a 'setting up your business' session done privately with the student and covers how to create your website, social media, flyers and how to launch your business locally.

I hope you'll consider joining me for the next course in April.
