Many find themselves in codependent relationships, agreeing with a friend rather than risk losing them. This leaves them feeling like there's something wrong with them. They may fight the feeling and convince themselves that even though this person is treating them badly, it's what they deserve.
Teens will voice this as anxiety and each of them experiences their anxiety differently but the pattern is actually often very similar when we look at the underlying belief. Here are the ones I encounter most often.
"I'm not good enough"
"I'm not important"
"They don't like me"
"I don't fit in"
"It's my fault"
